Snow's due to continue into tomorrow - scattering both the North and South Island

Snow's due to continue into tomorrow - scattering both the North and South Island

Motorists in parts of Central Otago are being urged to take care with snow and ice in some areas - following snowfalls in Queenstown and Frankton, as well as Canterbury.

The North Island's Desert Road along State Highway One, from Rangipo to Waiouru, has reopened this morning, after a heavy dumping of snow.

MetService Meteorologist Michael Pawley, says snow will likely continue into tomorrow.

He says a southerly flow is still travelling across the country.
