Snoop Dogg has been named as Team USA's honorary coach for the 2026 Winter Olympics

The 54-year-old rapper will be joining staff on the "Team Behind the Team" at next year's Olympic and Paralympic Games in Milano Cortina, Italy, the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) has revealed.

Snoop - who served as Team USA's hype-man at last year's Paris Olympics - said: "Team USA athletes are the real stars - I'm just here to cheer, uplift and maybe drop a little wisdom from the sidelines.

"This team represents the best of what sport can be: talent, heart and hustle. If I can bring a little more love and motivation to that, that's a win for me."

The Gin and Juice hitmaker added: "From the moment I rolled into Paris, I was instantly welcomed into the USOPC family.

"I felt the energy, the pride and the love of sport that makes this team special. The way the staff lifts up athletes... the way the athletes inspire the world... it had me hooked from day one."

Snoop's honorary role with Team USA continues his efforts of championing grassroots sport, as his Snoop Youth Football League project has supported 15,000 aspiring athletes both with and without disabilities.

USOPC chief ex ecutive Sarah Hirshland said: "From the moment Snoop met Team USA athletes, there was an instant connection - mutual respect, genuine curiosity and a lot of laughter.

"His enthusiasm for the Olympic and Paralympic Movement is contagious, and we're thrilled to officially welcome him as a member of the Team Behind the Team."

Snoop will also be working once again with broadcaster NBC for the event in February.

He said: "I am excited to be back with my main man Mike Tirico for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina.

"The D O double G will be on the scene, and I am looking forward to celebrating with the athletes and their families. The Olympics is the biggest stage in the world and as everyone knows, I am about sports, bringing people together, and unifying while bringing the fun.

"I'll be bringing my puffy jackets, snow pants, goggles, skates (and will definitely be iced out)."
