New Zealand export values have been surging

Latest Stats NZ data shows annual exports reached a record almost 80.1 billion dollars last year - up 14-percent annually.

Almost a third of exports were milk powder, butter and cheese - and almost an eighth were meat and offal.

Both export categories' values rose about 21-percent, reflecting higher global commodity prices.
