Confidence among Auckland businesses has surged to its highest level since 2022, according to the latest survey from the Auckland Business Chamber

It shows 25 percent of businesses describe their overall confidence as negative, down from 44 percent in November.

Positive sentiment has doubled from 16 to 32 percent.

More than half of businesses expect the economy to improve over the next year.

CEO Simon Bridges says businesses aren't euphoric, but they're more confident in the direction of travel.
