The Police Commissioner will be working Lyn Fleming's Nelson New Years shift in her memory - one year after her death

The Police Commissioner will be working Lyn Fleming's Nelson New Years shift in her memory - one year after her death

The 62-year-old Senior Sergeant was killed after being hit by a car in Buxton Square, while on patrol in the early hours of January 1st.

Her partner, Senior Sergeant Adam Ramsay was seriously injured.

32-year-old Hayden Tasker's facing six charges - including murder and attempted murder.

Commissioner Richard Chambers says supporting their colleagues on the same shift as Fleming's last, is the right thing to do after a tough year.

He will be joined on the beat with Tasman District Commander Superintendent Tracy Thompson.
