Far North police are investigating a three-year-old girl's unexplained death

Far North police are investigating a three-year-old girl's unexplained death

The child was found unresponsive at a property on Kaikohe's Tawanui Road, about 6.15 last night.

Meanwhile, Police in the district have launched a homicide investigation into a death in Horeke, north of Kaikohe.

A man who appeared at Kaikohe's Police Station had sent officers to a Waikerikeri Road address, where they found the man with critical injuries, who then died.

Police are speaking to the man who came to the station, and a post mortem will be done in coming days.
