A bill to make it easier to find and comply with the law has passed its first reading in Parliament

A bill to make it easier to find and comply with the law has passed its first reading in Parliament

It'll make secondary legislation easier to use and understand, including the likes of regulations, orders, exemptions and bylaws.

Attorney-General Judith Collins says most secondary legislation is currently drafted and published by both government and non-government agencies, and is difficult to access.

She says the bill will require agencies to publish secondary legislation they've drafted on their websites, or another approved site.
