Heavy rain is prompting evacuations in Marlborough this morning

Heavy rain is prompting evacuations in Marlborough this morning

MetService has orange warnings in effect for parts of Taranaki, Marlborough, Nelson and Tasman.

A local state of emergency's been issued in part of Marlborough, with Spring Creek residents being warned to leave their homes.

MetService's Heather Keats says the conditions are being caused by a northerly flow.

Nelson's Glider Road is also closed due to the weather.
