Emma Stone has described her daughter as the "greatest gift" of her life

The Oscar-winning actress welcomed Louise Jean, four, with her husband Dave McCary in 2021 and says that parenthood tops any acting role

Emma, 36, told Vogue: "There's nothing I feel luckier about. She's the greatest gift of my life, for sure."

The Poor Things star explained that her daughter has "simplified" her acting career as she weighs up whether to accept parts depending on how long she will be separated from her child for.

Stone said: "It's streamlined everything. It's a cliched thing to say, but it changes everything. And simplifies everything."

The La La Land star also discussed how becoming a parent has impacted her performances in front of the camera.

She explained: "I do think it unlocks things. I don't know if it's specifically that, but I feel everything I could possibly feel, because everything has exploded."

Emma shaved off all her hair for her role in Yorgos Lanthimos' picture Bugonia and said that there is "no better feeling in the world" than cutting off your locks.

She said: "The first shower when you've shaved your head? Oh my God, it's amazing."

Stone regrets that fact that she didn't show off her bald look publicly during the making of the movie that once again sees her join forces with the Greek filmmaker, although she did reveal a pixie cut style at the Golden Globes earlier this year.

The actress said: "I was bummed I wasn't going out with it. Just straight-up bald. I think that would have been fun."

Emma's close friend Jennifer Lawrence also contributed to the piece and admits that she had reservations about her pal's bold new look after she had made a major hair transformation for her portrayal of tennis legend Billie Jean King in the 2017 film Battle of the Sexes.

The 34-year-old actress said: "I really didn't want her to shave her head. I had already lived through the Billie Jean King haircut."

However, The Hunger Games star was quickly won round when she got to see Emma without her hair.

Lawrence said: "Honestly, (Emma) looked beautiful. She pulled it off."
