It's becoming more affordable again - for New Zealanders to get onto the property ladder

It's becoming more affordable again - for New Zealanders to get onto the property ladder

Cotality NZ's new report finds the national value-to-income ratio reached its lowest point since mid-2019 - in the June quarter, at 7.5.

The time required to save for a deposit has fallen to 10 years - from almost 14 in 2021.

Chief Property Economist Kelvin Davidson says we're moving out of the post-Covid boom, to some kind of normality.

He says while it's not easy to buy a house, it's a lot easier than two or three years ago.
