    Christchurch police are appealing for information, after four people were injured in an altercation at Northcote last night


    Cordons are still in place on Hoani Street - where police were called about 9.30pm.

    One person is critically injured, another seriously - and two others have less serious injuries.

    It's believed the altercation involved people known to each other - our newsroom understands they were members of rival gangs.

    Canterbury District Commander Superintendent Tony Hill says anyone who witnessed anything of interest in the area last night, should call Police on 105
