Just three years after being in a coma, Alexa Leary has starred in the mixed 4x100m medley relay final to help Australia win the gold medal.

Leary's stunning final leg allowed Australia to overcome the Netherlands in a thrilling final.

Leary, Jesse Aungles, Timothy Hodge and Emily Beecroft joined Lauren Parker as the Australians to win gold on day five, after Parker's win in the para triathlon PTWC.

Jake Michel won the silver medal in the men's 100m backstroke S14 final, while Jamieson Leeson and Dan Michel also took home silver medals after their boccia finals.

Michael Burian won a bronze medal in the men's javelin throw final, while Australia's wheelchair rugby team also took home a bronze medal after overcoming Great Britain.

Look back at how the action all unfolded on day five in our blog.
