Mark Ronson's DJ set has led to him being hospitalised

The 49-year-old producer-and-DJ has "popped" the tendons in his bicep after trying to turn the stage monitors towards the crowd to boost the sound, but hadn't realised just how heavy the equipment was, leaving him in pain

Mark shared a photo of himself in hospital and wrote on Instagram: "That time the house PA was so bad that I tried to one-hand turn the stage monitor towards the crowd mid-mix to give them some extra juice.

"Turns out they weigh more than I thought...Two popped bicep tendons and one finished gig later, here we are, baby! #tornthisway (sic)"

Last month, Mark revealed he is releasing a memoir, 'Night People', which is focused on his days DJing in New York in the 1990s and he described as a "love letter to a vanished era".

He said in a statement: "DJing in 90s New York City informed everything I ever did after, becoming the foundation for all my future work and creativity.

"'In 'Night People,' I wanted to capture that transformative period of my life and celebrate three of my great loves: the art of DJing, the thrilling energy of New York City after dark, and the wild and wonderful characters who populated our world and became my second family.

"This book is my love letter to a vanished era that shaped not just my career but my identity-a time when finding my craft put me on the path to finding myself."

The book will be published by Century on 25 September and the firm are "incredibly excited" to have acquired the rights to 'Night People', which they believe will be a "classic music memoir."

Century Editorial Director Zennor Compton said: "With 'Night People', Mark Ronson proves himself to be not only the hitmaker of a generation but a gifted writer.

"Ronson writes about 90s New York City in such a vivid way that you feel as if you're partying right there beside him.

"This is a book about a place, a time, a scene but it's also Ronson's origin story - a hugely personal account of the events and characters that made him who he is today.

"His musical passion and expertise is woven through every page of this memoir. We're incredibly excited to be publishing 'Night People', which we know is destined to become a classic music memoir."
