A fault in a major Wellington train line's been fixed

A fault in a major Wellington train line's been fixed

KiwiRail's confirmed the signals fault on the Johnsonville Line's now been repaired, and services are running.

A Kapiti Line service from Waikanae was struck with a downed electrical wire just before eight this morning, while 152 passengers were on board, and was towed to Wellington Station after more than three hours.

Passengers had to use emergency toilet supplies in the ordeal.

Buses had been replacing trains in Johnsonville, due to a separate signals fault.
