| | | PC World - 7 hours ago (PC World)Epic Games Store continues to offer free games every week, and this time you have the opportunity to grab free copies of popular co-op horror shooter Dead Island 2 and horror puzzle adventure Happy Game for Windows PCs until 11am ET on Thursday, May 22nd, 2025.
Once you add these games to your Epic Games library, you’ll be able to keep them permanently. It’s a darn good deal since Dead Island 2 normally costs $49.99 for the standard edition ($69.99 for the ultimate edition) and Happy Game costs $13.13. Big savings!
Dead Island 2
Dead Island 2 is a combination of zombie shooter and action role-playing that can be played cooperatively. You face off against hordes of zombies, either alone or with up to three friends, in an open world where players can complete various missions and challenges together.
“A deadly virus is spreading across Los Angeles, turning inhabitants into zombies. Bitten, infected, but more than just immune, uncover the truth behind the outbreak and discover who—or what—you are.”
Happy Game
Happy Game is a psychedelic horror puzzle adventure game with cute graphics. You control a young boy and try to escape various nightmares.
“A little boy falls asleep to a horrible nightmare. Can you make him happy again? Psychedelic horror adventure from the creators of Botanicula and CHUCHEL. Endure and escape three unforgettable nightmares. Solve deeply disturbing puzzles in (not so) charming environments. Deal with suspicious smiley faces and pink bunnies. Creepy songs and screeches from the Czech freakfolk band DVA.”

| | | PC World - 8 hours ago (PC World)About a month ago, Microsoft tweaked the interface of Windows 10’s taskbar calendar and removed the clock display from the flyout menu, annoying long-time users who depended on it.
One reason given for the change was to eliminate the seconds display, which supposedly required extra processing resources and burdened the graphical user interface, preventing the PC’s power saving mode from activating and thus causing a performance hit. (Prior to the update, the time display showed accurate to the second.)
Windows Latest now reports that Microsoft has decided to reimplement the clock’s seconds display with the next cumulative update for Windows 10, after heavy criticism from users.
The relevant update is Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.5912, also known as update KB5058481. According to the release notes, it’s been made available to the Release Preview Channel for Windows Insiders and should be coming to all users with the optional update later this month.

| | | PC World - 8 hours ago (PC World)My first desktop computer, or at least the first one I used that was “mine” and not shared, had a 400MB hard drive. And at the time (about 1999, if I remember right) my parents thought it was mind-blowing. These days, you can get more than 1,200 times that much storage in a card the size of your pinky fingernail for just $27 on Amazon. How ’bout that.
Amazon is selling a Lexar 512GB microSD card for 46% off, making it even cheaper than the 256GB version on the same page. It’s rated for 160 MB/s read and 100 MB/s write, so it’s more than fast enough for most storage, photo, and video needs. (Maybe not for 8K cameras, though.) It’s about as cheap as these cards get at the moment, and it’s ready to slide into any Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch, Android device, or laptop to instantly give you some extra breathing room.
This isn’t the cheapest I’ve ever seen a 512GB microSD card, but it’s the cheapest price for this particular one. It’s a great way to expand storage space in almost any modern device, so get it for cheap while you can. Amazon has this marked as a discount, but there’s no indication of how long the price will stay this low.
