Gisborne to Wairarapa Mostly cloudy. Scattered showers north of Napier retreating to Gisborne and inland Hawke's Bay this afternoon. Fine spells developing.
Manawatu to Wellington Mainly fine with high cloud.
Buller to Fiordland Fine at first but becoming cloudy. Rain developing about Fiordland and South Westland this evening, and elsewhere tonight.
Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury Partly cloudy, with rain developing about Nelson tonight.
Otago and Southland Fine at first, but high cloud thickening.
