    Strong wind advisory for Bream Head to Cape Colville

    Situation:
    A ridge is spreading over Aotearoa New Zealand today, and is covers the country on Monday. A broad trough is approaching Aotearoa New Zealand, from the Tasman Sea, on Tuesday. The trough preceded by a strong moist northerly flow is then expected to move slowly onto Aotearoa/New Zealand on Wednesday. An area of low pressure and associated fronts direct a moist northeasterly or easterly flow onto much of the country on Thursday.

    Valid to 7 am Sunday for Manukau and Waitemata Harbours, Hauraki Gulf and Bream Head to Cape Colville.

    For Manukau Harbour:
    Sunday: Southwest 10 knots rising to 15 knots this morning, then easing back to 10 knots this evening. Sea slight. Partly cloudy. Southwest swell 3 metres.
    Monday: Southwest 15 knots, turning southeast 10 knots in the morning. Turning northeast 15 knots in the afternoon. Fine. Southwest swell 3 metres easing.
    Tuesday: Northeast 10 knots, rising to 20 knots early. Partly cloudy. Southwest swell 1 metre.
    Wednesday: Northeast 15 knots, rising to 25 knots early. Rain developing. Westerly swell 1 metre dying out.

    For Waitemata Harbour:
    Sunday: Westerly 10 knots rising to southwest 15 knots this morning. Rising to southwest 20 knots for a time this afternoon and early evening. Sea becoming moderate for a time this afternoon and early evening. Partly cloudy.
    Monday: Southwest 15 knots, easing to variable 5 knots in the morning. Becoming northeast 10 knots in the afternoon. Fine.
    Tuesday: Northeast 10 knots, rising to 20 knots early. Partly cloudy.
    Wednesday: Northerly 15 knots, rising to northeast 25 knots early. Rain developing.

    For Hauraki Gulf:
    Sunday: Southwest 15 knots rising to 20 knots this morning. Sea becoming moderate this morning. Partly cloudy.
    Monday: Southerly 15 knots, easing to variable 5 knots in the morning. Becoming northeast 15 knots in the afternoon. Partly cloudy.
    Tuesday: Northeast 10 knots, rising to 20 knots early. Partly cloudy.
    Wednesday: Northeast 20 knots, rising to 30 knots later. Rain developing. Northeast swell 1 metre developing.

    For Bream Head to Cape Colville:
    Sunday: Southwest 15 knots, rising to 20 knots this morning and to 25 knots gusting 35 knots about the Colville Channel this afternoon. Easing to southerly 15 knots overnight. Sea becoming rough about the channel this afternoon, easing overnight. Partly cloudy.
    Monday: Southerly 15 knots, turning northeast 15 knots in the morning. Partly cloudy.
    Tuesday: Northeast 20 knots. Partly cloudy. Northerly swell 1 metre developing.
    Wednesday: Northeast 25 knots. Rain developing. Northeast swell rising to 2 metres.
