![]() Recreational Marine: Bay of Islands Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 1108hrs Sunday 10-Aug-2025 by MetService Situation: A strong, showery southerly flow over central and eastern parts of the country eases later today and into tomorrow, as a low to the east of New Zealand shifts away to the northeast. Meanwhile, a ridge of high pressure builds over the South Island. On Tuesday and Wednesday a ridge lies over the South Island while an easterly flow affects the North Island. On Thursday a ridge affects much of the nation, but a weak front moves east over the far south of the South Island. Forecast for The Bay of Islands and inshore waters from Cape Brett to the Poor Knights Islands to Bream Head Nil warnings Sunday: Southerly 15 knots but 20 knots gusting 30 knots South of Poor Knights Islands, easing to southeast 15 knots everywhere in the evening. Moderate sea in the south easing to in the evening. Cloudy periods. Chance of an afternoon shower. Easterly swell 1 metre. Monday: Southeast 15 knots, rising to southeast 20 knots in the afternoon. Sea becoming moderate in the afternoon. Partly cloudy with the chance of a shower or two. Easterly swell 1 metre rising to 1.5 metres. Tuesday: Southeast 20 knots. A few showers.
