![]() Recreational Marine: Bay of Plenty Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 1108hrs Sunday 10-Aug-2025 by MetService Situation: A strong, showery southerly flow over central and eastern parts of the country eases later today and into tomorrow, as a low to the east of New Zealand shifts away to the northeast. Meanwhile, a ridge of high pressure builds over the South Island. On Tuesday and Wednesday a ridge lies over the South Island while an easterly flow affects the North Island. On Thursday a ridge affects much of the nation, but a weak front moves east over the far south of the South Island. Forecast for Inshore waters from Matakana Island to Mayor Island to Motiti Island and then east to Torere River mouth Nil warnings Sunday: Southwest 15 knots, rising to southerly 20 knots gusting 30 knots early afternoon, then easing to southerly 15 knots in the evening. Sea becoming moderate for a time. Mainly fine. Northeast swell half a metre to 1 metre. Monday: Southerly 15 knots, easing to southeast 10 knots in the morning. Becoming southeast 10 knots but variable 5 knots west of Moutohora Island for a time in the afternoon, then rising to southeast 15 knots everywhere in the evening. Sea slight. Fine.
