    Recreational Marine: Bay of Islands
    Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 1330hrs Saturday 29-Jun-2024 by MetService

    Situation:
    A front weakens as it moves northwards over the North Island today, followed by a ridge of high pressure. A northwest flow strengthens over the South Island tonight, ahead of another front that moves onto the South Island during Sunday. The front and an associated low pass over the upper South Island and North Island through Monday and into early Tuesday, followed by cooler southwesterly flow. A ridge of high pressure gradually builds over the South Island during Wednesday.

    Valid to 1 pm Saturday for Bay of Islands Recreational Marine Area.
    Saturday: Variable 5 knots. Southwest 10 knots developing early evening. Sea slight. Mainly fine. Fair visibility in a showers from afternoon. Easterly swell 1.5 metres easing to 1 metre. Sunday: Southwest 10 knots, easing to variable 5 knots in the morning. Northwest 10 knots developing in the evening. Sea slight. Cloudy periods. Easterly swell 1 metre.

    Outlook until midnight Wednesday: Monday: Northwest 10 knots, rising to 25 knots in the morning. Easing to westerly 15 knots in the evening. Cloudy, rain developing later. Northwest swell 2 metres developing. Easterly swell 1 metre easing to half a metre. Tuesday: Westerly 15 knots. Fine. Northwest swell 2 metres easing to half a metre. Easterly swell half a metre dying out. Wednesday: Westerly 10 knots. Fine. Northwest swell half a metre dying out.

    High tides at Opua: 10:23am Saturday, 10:23am Saturday.
