A broad trough is approaching Aotearoa New Zealand, from the Tasman Sea, on Tuesday. The trough preceded by a strong moist northerly flow is then expected to move slowly onto Aotearoa/New Zealand on Wednesday. An area of low pressure and associated fronts direct a moist northeasterly or easterly flow onto much of the country on Thursday. Forecast issued at 0329hrs Sunday 29-Sep-2024 Valid to 7 am Sunday for Wellington Harbour and the south coast from Sinclair Head to Baring Head.
